On October 3, 2024, the Country Presentation dedicated to Kyrgyzstan was held in Rome at the headquarters of the ICE Agency (Italian Trade Agency for the promotion abroad and internationalization of Italian companies). This key event aimed to explore commercial collaboration opportunities between Italy and Kyrgyzstan.
Among the participants, Paul Crabtree, CEO of Mikro Kapital S.p.A. and representative of Mikro Leasing Kyrgyzstan, played a prominent role in the panel dedicated to Italian-based companies already operating in the Central Asian country.
The official business-focused event was organized during the official visit to Italy by Sadyr Japarov, President of Kyrgyzstan, who met with the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella and the Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
This occasion highlighted the importance of economic relations between the two countries, emphasizing key sectors such as energy, textiles, banking, and agribusiness.
Founded in 2022, Mikro Leasing Kyrgyzstan has quickly gained a leading position in the leasing sector thanks to its ability to offer innovative financing solutions for Kyrgyz small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), particularly in the transport, industrial equipment, and agriculture sectors.
Mikro Kapital S.p.A. and Mikro Leasing Kyrgyzstan are part of the portfolio of companies in which the Luxembourg-based securitization fund, ALTERNATIVE, of the Mikro Kapital group, invests.
Kyrgyzstan holds strategic importance for the group, not only due to its geographical position in the heart of Central Asia but also for the key role it plays in the development of local SMEs. Mikro Kapital, through Mikro Leasing Kyrgyzstan, significantly contributes to the country’s economic growth by offering financing tools that promote access to credit for businesses often excluded from traditional banking channels. This approach is an integral part of Mikro Kapital’s mission, which promotes sustainable development and financial inclusion in areas where economic opportunities are limited.
The Country Presentation provided an important platform to showcase opportunities for trade exchanges and industrial partnerships between the two countries, with a particular focus on strategic investments. During the event, B2B meetings were held between Italian companies and selected Kyrgyz businesses, paving the way for new entrepreneurial collaborations.
Paul Crabtree’s participation underscored the role of Mikro Kapital S.p.A. and Mikro Leasing Kyrgyzstan as a bridge between European economies and Central Asia, solidifying the company’s leadership in the local market and expanding investment opportunities for Italian businesses.
